This car has had no expense spared to keep in in showroom condition. After weeks under the car cover in the garage the is not a single drop of oil, not many owners can say that.
I am the most ocd car owner there is. If something needs being done it just has to be done straight away with me. This is a regretful sale but my obsession is your gain.
There is a shopping list of things that have been done to this car but you are better off giving me a call and come having a look. If you do get the chance to see this LJ bring your cash because you will want to take it home and only the sight of a good cash offer will allow me to let her go/

Volkswagen has always made some of the most simple and effective motor vehicles. Certainly the Beetle fits that description, but the Kombi was a profoundly successful idea as well. The Karmann Ghia was another great concept, although this time the simplicity was clothed in an Italian suit.

While some of the VW models are well known throughout the world, a few have slipped by almost unnoticed. One such vehicle is the Type 181. This unusual model is actually a redesign of the wartime Type 82 Keubelwagen, and both models were based on the Type 1 (Beetle).

It was designed for the German Federal Armed Forces and other European governments as a modern jeep-style vehicle. Production commenced in 1969 and continued until 1983. Sales were not limited to the military, and the Type 181 was sold in many countries. The Mexican market was very successful, as the Type 181 could travel on the poor roads better than other Volkswagens.

Known variously as the Thing in America, the Trekker in Britain, and the Safari in Mexico, the open car was designed to use existing VW parts. The engine and gearbox was from the Type 1, the reduction gearing from the Transporter, and the floorplan was from the Karmann Ghia.

Like many products that were designed for military use, the Type 181 is devoid of decoration or unnecessary embellishment. It is what it is, pure and simple. If that appeals to you, in a Philippe Stark, Marc Newson, Patty and Selma kind of way, then this needs your immediate attention.

By the 1930s Dodge held a strong position in the American market and within the General Motors hierachy, positioned between Plymouth and Chrysler. Indeed by 1933 Dodge was the fourth best selling make in the USA. For 1934, Dodge restyled the model range, characterised by a more streamlined appearance, with a vee-shaped radiator and bullet-shaped headlamps. Standard equipment included hydraulic brakes, independent front suspension and Delco-Remy ignition. The Six was standardised across the range in 1934, with several model lines available.

The Series DT was the export model built in Canada, who supplied the body, chassis and running gear to markets like Australia. These export Dodge models were based in Plymouth and used an L-head in-line six displacing 201-cubic inches and a three-speed transmission. The Dodge brothers began exporting cars to Australia back in 1916, with S.A Cheney of South Australia the first agent, and soon developed a reputation here for mechanical toughness.

This customised 1934 Dodge Roadster by Machine was originally sold to Australia and has the earlier 1933 wings (these were interchangeable) for a smoother look.

With whitewhall tyres, the bonnet removed and subtle pinstriping, the Dodge is the very essence of cool but could revert to the original configuration with minimal effort.

The ute has been used on the property for a number of years without seeing much traffic.
The ute is a 1969 HG Blemont with a 186 red motor and a 4 speed manual box. The car starts and drives quite well but the brakes need attention. the interior is missing the parcel shelf cover and floor mat. there is a hole in the floor but not a major repair. The bonnet is in fair condition as is the grill an front bumper. The front guards are rough. The 2 doors are not bad and the right rear quarter is ok. The left rear quater will need the most work and a replacement tailgate is needs. As you can see the ute tray has seen a few bails of hay.
please checkout photos for more info or leave message or sms and I will get back to you asap.

The all-new HQ series introduced in July 1971 was a milestone car for General Motors Holden, boasting brand new styling, unitary construction, redesigned suspension, brakes and interiors. Conceived from the outset with Australian conditions in mind, the model range was greatly expanded and performance enthusiasts were well catered for with the Monaro, available in either two or four-door (from early 1973 on) guise for the first time. With a variety of trim levels and several different engine/transmission combinations available, Holden built a Monaro to suit just about every type of buyer, from those looking for a stylish cruiser through to out and out muscle cars. In the LS, Holden were aiming at the more mature bloke who wanted a touch of luxury - indeed the name stood for luxury/sport - and the new model came with upmarket Premier appointments like reclining front bucket seats upholstered in leather-grained vinyl, dual headlamps, black vinyl roof, centre console and rich loop-pile carpeting. Other touches included rear tinted glass and flow-thru ventilation and the standard LS specification included the 202-cid six with Trimatic through to the Chevrolet 350ci V8 , for the ultimate in "luxury personal transportation" according to Holden's own marketing people. The Monaro proved to be a great success with the press and public alike and is still held in high regard by enthusiasts today, particularly in two-door form.

This car was built at Acacia Ridge, Brisbane, in October 1970 thus coinciding with the first ever running of the GTR XU-1 at Bathurst. The cars PSN number ( production sequence number ) shows that it was one of the first 400 GTR XU-1'S ever built., ( my PSN number is H175274 ). First registered new in New Zealand on the 11th of December 1970, the original owner was Tony Shelly ( Formula One racing car driver ) Tony Shelly raced in the British Grand Prix in 1962 as well as many other prestigious race circuits during his career. Tony raced this car for 16 months on the nz circuits.

The car has had a complete repaint ( $10,500 ) in it's original colour ( 1815, Plumdinger ) approx five years ago and still looks as new. The engine was completely rebuilt 1 year ago ( $8,000 ) has a lumpy cam with a H26 grind, also had a new Starter motor and a new Alternator at the same time, the engine is a beast. Please note the car does not retain it's original block but does have it's original crank and numbers matching head and triple 150 Stromburg carbs ( which have also been fully rebuilt ) the rebuild was extensive and the car runs and sounds amazing, always turns heads. This car has great history and is truly exhilarating to drive.

The under side of the bonnet has been signed by Peter Brocks brothers ( Phil & Lewis ) the car has central locking, is alarmed.

Please note the car is located in NZ and the cost of shipping is the responsibility of the purchaser but I am happy to help out in any way possible. Approx cost of shipping to Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne is $2,000.

New white wall tyres, overhauled brakes and engine, converted to 8 volt electrics. Selling due to lack of use

A bit of history...

In the immediate post-war period, Mercury cars were in essence dressed-up Fords that bridged the gap between the DeLuxe and the Lincoln-Zephyr range. Many regard the 1941-1948 Mercurys as one of Ford's greatest cars, combining sleek styling, fancy interior appointments and the famous flathead V8 under the shapely bonnet. During the war years, Mercury steadily developed a new model and even reached the point of clay mock-ups in 1944, but it wasn't until the 1st of November, 1945, once hostilities had ceased, that production finally resumed. As with all other car makers, the 1946 Mercury was basically a facelifted 1942 model, with a new high-style grille to set it apart. Built on a four-inch longer wheelbase than the Fords of the day, which contributed to the better balanced styling found on the Mercurys, the 1946 line-up included 2-door Sedan, Sportsman Club Convertible, 2-door Sedan Coupe, 4-door Town Sedan and Station Wagon models. Of the 86,608 Mercurys built in 1946, exactly 24,163 had the Sedan Coupe body style, which retailed for $1,495 in American dollars. Under the bonnet was the beefy L-head V8, displacing 239-cid and developing 100 bhp at 3800 rpm, while a three-speed manual transmission was standard. Changes to the engine for 1946 included new bearings, aluminium pistons and a high-pressure radiator cap to improve cooling. Other mechanical enhancements included self-centring brakes, a rear stabilizer bar and "Slow Motion" springs designed to give a more cushioned ride. The Mercury's dashboard was finished in a metallic lacquer and a fancier steering wheel, high quality upholstery combining leather with cord or broadcloth and more trim.
